  • 4 cups chicken, beef, or vegetable broth
  • 12 oz frozen wontons (chicken or vegetable)
  • 3 green onions
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1 tbsp ginger
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil
  • ½ cup neutral oil (peanut, avocado, vegetable, or canola)
  • 1 tsp sesame oil (optional)
  • ¼ cup red pepper flakes
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • ½ tsp salt

Instructions

  1. For the chili oil, combine chili flakes, sesame seeds, minced garlic, minced ginger, sugar, and salt in a heat-safe bowl.
  2. Heat neutral oil in a small pan until hot; pour over the chili mixture to infuse flavors.
  3. In a large pot, melt coconut oil over medium heat. Sauté white parts of green onions with minced garlic and ginger until fragrant.
  4. Add broth and bring to a simmer for about 5 minutes.
  5. Stir in wontons and soy sauce; simmer until heated through.
  6. Serve topped with green onion greens and drizzle with chili oil.
