  • 1 ¼ cups whole milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ cup melted unsalted butter (for topping)
  • ½ cup granulated sugar (for topping)
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon (for topping)
  • ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and grease an 8.5 x 4.5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In one bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla until well blended.
  4. Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined; do not overmix.
  5. Transfer batter to prepared loaf pan and bake for 60-70 minutes until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Allow to cool for about 10 minutes in the pan before transferring to parchment paper.
  7. While warm, brush with melted butter and sprinkle with cinnamon-sugar topping.
