  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 cup old-fashioned rolled oats
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp fine salt
  • 1/2 cup cold unsalted butter, cubed

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F.
  2. Peel, core, and slice the apples into thin slices. In a mixing bowl, toss apple slices with lemon juice, granulated sugar, flour, cinnamon, and nutmeg until coated. Spread evenly in a baking dish.
  3. In another bowl, mix oats, flour, brown sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt. Cut in cold butter until crumbly.
  4. Sprinkle topping over apples without pressing down. Bake for 40–45 minutes until golden brown and bubbling.
  5. Let it rest for 15–20 minutes before serving.
