  • 1 1/4 cups unsalted butter (softened)

  • 28 ounces sweetened condensed milk
  • 6 ounces dark chocolate (60% cacao)
  • Sea salt (for finishing)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.
  2. Cream together softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Gradually add flour and salt; mix until combined. Press into prepared pan.
  3. Bake for about 20 minutes until lightly golden; cool slightly.
  4. In a saucepan, combine sweetened condensed milk, butter, and corn syrup over medium heat. Stir constantly until thickened (about 5 minutes). Pour over cooled shortbread.
  5. Melt dark chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl or double boiler; pour over the caramel layer.
  6. Sprinkle sea salt on top and allow to set at room temperature or refrigerate until firm.
