Ingredients
- 1 cup Glutinous Rice Flour
- 2 tbsp All-Purpose Flour
- ¼ tsp Baking Soda
- 2 tbsp Sugar
- ½ tsp Salt
- 1 tbsp Butter
- ½ cup Hot Water (or as needed)
- Refined Oil for deep frying
- ½ cup Caster Sugar for coating
- 2 tsp Ground Cinnamon
Instructions
- Prepare the cinnamon sugar by mixing caster sugar and ground cinnamon in a bowl. Set aside.
- In a mixing bowl, combine glutinous rice flour, all-purpose flour, baking soda, salt, sugar, and butter. Gradually mix in hot water until the dough is moist but not sticky.
- Knead the dough for a few minutes until smooth. Let it rest for about 5 minutes before rolling into small balls.
- Heat oil in a heavy-bottomed pot over medium-low heat. Carefully drop the mochi balls into the oil and fry until golden brown, about 3 to 5 minutes.
- Remove from oil and drain on paper towels before rolling in the prepared cinnamon sugar.
