- Kosher salt and freshly ground pepper
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1–2 roma tomatoes (sliced)
- 4 ounces fresh mozzarella (sliced)
- 8 fresh basil leaves
- Reduced balsamic vinegar
Instructions
- Season the filet mignon generously with kosher salt and freshly ground pepper; brush lightly with olive oil.
- Preheat your grill to high heat.
- Place the seasoned steaks on the grill, then reduce the heat to medium and cover. Cook for about 5 minutes.
- Flip the steaks using tongs and cook for an additional 5 minutes.
- Add toppings: either remove from grill and layer on each steak with tomato slices, basil leaves, mozzarella, another basil leaf, and more tomato slices or top while still on the grill and cover for 3-5 minutes until desired doneness.
- Transfer steaks to a platter and let rest for at least 5 minutes before drizzling with reduced balsamic vinegar.
