  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 large egg
  • 3/4 cup diced fresh strawberries
  • 1/2 cup strawberry preserves
  • 1 tsp granulated sugar
  • 2 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup confectioners' sugar
  • 3 tbsp whole milk
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Warm milk to 105°F to 110°F and combine with active dry yeast; let it sit until foamy.
  2. Mix in sugar, melted butter, salt, and egg; gradually add flour until a dough forms.
  3. Knead on a floured surface for 5–7 minutes until smooth; let rise in a greased bowl for 1 hour.
  4. Combine diced strawberries and strawberry preserves for the filling.
  5. Roll out the dough into a rectangle (¼ inch thick); spread the strawberry filling evenly over it.
  6. Roll tightly from one end, slice into equal pieces, and place in a greased baking dish.
  7. Let rolls rise for another 30 minutes while preheating the oven to 350°F.
  8. Bake for 25 minutes or until golden brown.
  9. For frosting, beat together softened cream cheese, butter, confectioners' sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth; drizzle over warm rolls.
