- 1/4 cup sour cream
- 1/4 cup heavy cream

- 1 15.25 ounce white cake mix
- Water (oil, and eggs according to directions on the box)
- 1 teaspoon unsweetened cocoa powder (optional)
- Red gel food coloring
- Blue gel food coloring
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 4 1/2 to 5 cups powdered sugar
- 2 to 5 tablespoons milk or heavy cream
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Prepare two 9-inch round cake pans by greasing and lining them.
- Beat cream cheese with sugar until smooth, then mix in flour, eggs, sour cream, heavy cream, and vanilla.
- Divide the mixture; color half red and pour into one pan while pouring the plain mixture into another.
- Bake at 325°F for about 60 minutes or until set. Allow cooling completely.
- Prepare your white cake mix according to package directions; add cocoa powder if desired.
- Bake the cake layers as per instructions and let cool on a wire rack.
- Beat butter and powdered sugar to create frosting; add milk to achieve desired consistency.
- Assemble your cake by alternating layers of cake and cheesecake; frost the top and decorate as desired.
