Ingredients
- 1 lb ribeye or sirloin steak
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup cherry tomatoes
- 8 oz fresh mozzarella balls (bocconcini)
- 1/2 cup fresh basil leaves
- 1/3 cup balsamic vinegar
- 2 tbsp olive oil
Instructions
- Season both sides of the steak generously with salt and pepper.
- Heat a cast iron skillet over medium-high heat. Add 1 tablespoon of olive oil and sear the steak for about 4–5 minutes per side until well-browned. Let it rest for 5–10 minutes before slicing.
- In the same skillet, add cherry tomatoes and another tablespoon of olive oil. Cook until blistered, around 5 minutes.
- In a small saucepan, simmer balsamic vinegar over medium heat until reduced by half and syrupy, approximately 8-10 minutes.
- Slice the rested steak thinly and arrange it on a serving platter topped with blistered tomatoes and fresh mozzarella.
- Garnish generously with fresh basil leaves and drizzle with balsamic glaze before serving.
