Ingredients
- 1/3 cup fresh lime juice (about 4 limes)
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 2 green onions, thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons fresh ginger, minced
- 1½ lb flatiron steak
- Vegetable oil for grilling
- Coarse salt and fresh ground pepper (to taste)
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl or Ziplock bag, combine lime juice, soy sauce, green onions, ginger, and red pepper flakes.
- Lightly score both sides of the flatiron steak in a cross-hatch pattern. Place the steak in the marinade mixture and seal tightly. Marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes or overnight for deeper flavor.
- Preheat your grill pan or outdoor grill to medium-high heat and lightly oil the grates.
- Remove the steak from the marinade, discarding any excess liquid. Pat dry and season with salt and pepper.
- Grill the steak for about 6-8 minutes per side until it reaches desired doneness (medium rare is recommended). Let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing thinly against the grain.
