Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pounds flank steak
  • 1/2 cup olive oil
  • 1/4 cup white vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon Tabasco Sauce
  • 2 teaspoons Mexican oregano
  • 2 teaspoons New Mexico red chile powder (or Ancho Chile Powder)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic (minced)

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, vinegar, salt, Tabasco sauce, oregano, red chile powder, and garlic until well blended.
  2. Place the flank steak in a gallon-sized zip lock bag and pour in the marinade. Seal the bag while squeezing out excess air and massage to coat the meat thoroughly.
  3. Refrigerate overnight to allow flavors to deepen.
  4. Preheat your grill to medium heat (around 350°F).
  5. Remove the steak from the marinade and discard the excess liquid. Grill for about 5-6 minutes on each side until reaching desired doneness.
  6. Let the steak rest for 5 minutes under foil before slicing against the grain.
